Khartoum opposes an end to not receiving Washington's proposals for a ceasefire in Sudan, a country torn by a war that has lasted for almost three years. Massad Boulos, the US President's Special Adviser for Africa and the Middle East, called on Monday, 23 February, on his account X, for an "immediate ceasefire" and a "humanitarian truce, without preconditions". Proposals were made earlier to the belligerents.
