SUBCON Expo hits £526 million in parts trade
The expo produced more than 9,600 business-matching pairs and led to procurement agreements, follow-up talks and technology partnerships, organizers said.
SUBCON Thailand's 20th edition closed in Bangkok after running May 13–16, drawing more than 50,000 participants and generating an estimated £526 million in parts trade.
Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment, described the expo as a "mechanism" to connect Thai entrepreneurs to global supply chains during massive industrial restructuring.
Business Matching sessions generated over 9,600 pairs, with Paulino Mendoza, BMW team lead global processing manager, identifying "potential to deepen collaboration with Thai entrepreneurs."
Waranchalee Suwanpimolkul, assistant managing director of Polymer, said the expo allowed manufacturers to "prove their quality" to international buyers and build confidence to compete globally.
The BOI plans to expand SUBCON Thailand to target advanced electronics, modern vehicles, and AI, aiming to build closer ties between Thai companies and overseas investors.
