Austrian construction group Strabag, which also has a branch in Slovenia, announced on its website that the company's CEO Klemens Haselsteiner died unexpectedly on Friday. Other members of the board of directors have temporarily taken over the management of the company.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that Strabag SE CEO Klemens Haselsteiner passed away suddenly and unexpectedly today, January 17, 2025. The thoughts of all our employees are with his family," company officials said, according to the Kronen Zeitung. Klemens Haselsteiner, a father of three, took over the management of Strabag SE two years ago after a long career in the company and had a mandate until 2026.
Klemens Haselsteiner became the chairman of the board of the Austrian construction company two years ago.
