Storms, Then Big Weather Shift Ahead For MD
Forecasters say thunderstorms could bring damaging wind gusts before temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees below normal this weekend.
On Friday, a powerful cold front will sweep across Eastern Pennsylvania, bringing the possibility of severe storms to the region, according to the National Weather Service.
After a stretch of unusually warm October weather, temperatures will rise to 80 degrees on Friday before the front arrives, with Accuweather noting the transition will be "a bumpy one."
Accuweather's Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson warned that wind gusts will average 25-40 mph, though some storms could produce gusts of 55 to 65 miles per hour, enough to send Halloween decorations flying.
Temperatures will plummet Saturday and Sunday, potentially marking the coldest days in months, with frost and freezing conditions likely west of Interstate 95, according to the National Weather Service.
The cold snap should be relatively short-lived, with temperatures expected to gradually recover early next week as forecasters anticipate highs climbing back into the lower 60s by Monday.
