A new plaque has been unveiled at the John Frost Bridge in Arnhem, at the initiative of the TV programme Even tot hier. The municipality of Arnhem says it is "deeply touched" by the action. Two days after it was placed, a statue of a soldier sitting on a bench was stolen in Schijndel. The statue commemorated 80 years of liberation. Wooden benches were placed in three places in the municipality of Meierijstad on Friday, with a soldier from the 101st Airborne Division in 1944 gear on them.
