‘Took control of my life’: Teens banned from buying popular Sydney party drug
The NSW government’s new laws will prohibit the sale of nitrous oxide to under-18s, ban large cylinders from retail outlets and limit how purchases are made. Same-day delivery and supply will be restricted, effectively preventing walk-in purchases, but still allowing orders to be made in advance for legitimate use, such as for the food industry.
From July 1, it will be prohibited to sell nitrous oxide to persons under the age of 18. There will also be a ban on selling nitrous oxide for intoxicating purposes and restrictions on the amount of nitrous oxide that can be sold to private individuals.
