Atlanta United Signs Former World Cup Star in 4-Year Contract

- Embolo arrives after playing the 2025 season for Stade Rennais, where he tallied 10 goals and three assists in 34 matches. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he started all six matches for Switzerland, generating two goals and two assists.
- Over his career, the striker has recorded 100 goals and 66 assists in 380 professional appearances across top divisions in Switzerland, Germany, and France. He made 30 appearances in the UEFA Champions League and 27 in the UEFA Europa League.
- Chris Henderson, chief soccer officer and sporting director of Atlanta United, said the team was "pleased to bring a player with Breel's combination of talent and experience at the highest levels of world soccer to Atlanta United." The forward will occupy Designated Player and international roster spots.
- Pending the official receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Athlete Visa, the forward's roster status will be finalized. Embolo previously earned honors as Switzerland's Golden Player and Best Young Player in 2015 while beginning his professional career at Basel.
