Family members of those killed in the Kočani fire have been demanding accountability for more than six months. During the hearing, all the accused, including high-ranking officials, denied guilt for serious acts against public security.
All 35 defendants and representatives of the three companies who went on trial for the deadly fire at the Pulse nightclub in the Macedonian city of Kocany in March 2025 have declared their innocence.
All those accused of a nightclub fire in Kočani, eastern North Macedonia, that claimed the lives of more than 60 people, pleaded not guilty today, Serbian news agency Tanjug reported. The 34 defendants include the club's owner and members of his family, as well as former ministers, inspectors and mayors.
