STA: A special U.N. mission to Syria after 13 years of war offers a new approach to the country.

The U.N. Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen came to the United Nations Security Council on Thursday and presented his regular report on Syria and stated that, after 13 years of war, a new, comprehensive approach was needed to address the country's humanitarian, political and economic challenges, and most of the members of the Security Council agreed with him on that principle.
