Despite a back-and-forth opening half, DePaul women's basketball came up short against St. John's, 75-58, on New Year's Day at Carnesecca Arena, with the Red Storm breaking the game open in the third quarter. Trailing by just two possessions at the half, the Blue Demons shot just 17 percent from the field in the third quarter as St. John's hit at a 91-percent clip in the frame.
