Special weather statement calls for 10-20 mm of rain, strong winds and ‘rapidly falling temperatures’ in Ottawa
A strong cold front will bring 60–80 km/h gusty winds, 10–20 mm of rain, and rapidly falling temperatures causing icy surfaces and difficult travel, Environment Canada said.

- West Region Ontario Provincial Police urged drivers to take extra care overnight and into Friday as wet surfaces may freeze, making travel by foot, bicycle, or vehicle difficult.
- By Friday evening conditions should calm even as weekend snow stays likely with snow squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in the Saturday and Sunday forecasts.
- The Grand River Conservation Authority warned river flows in local waterways will be higher than normal, urging residents to stay off unstable ice and use caution near water.
