On Wednesday, Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD) announced that it had received the approval of its members to work together in a ruling coalition with the conservatives CDU/CSU. The coalition, dubbed black and red after the parties' colors, will be led by conservative Friedrich Merz. The right-wing cabinet is already clear, while the names of the left-wing ministers have not yet been officially confirmed, but are already being discussed.
