Disney says the overhaul will add new scenes, a new guide and all-new narration as the ride shifts its focus to human connection.
- At D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, Disney Imagineer Ali Rubinstein announced that EPCOT's Spaceship Earth is receiving its first update in nearly 20 years, bringing the classic attraction into the internet age and beyond.

- Disney also revealed updates for other Walt Disney World attractions, including a reimagined Journey Into Imagination reuniting Dreamfinder and Figment, while the Yeti Audio-Animatronics figure at Expedition Everest will finally be revived.
- The Carousel of Progress will reopen in late spring 2027 with four new decades, featuring voices from Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and Emmy Award-winning Bryan Cranston as the mother and father characters.
