Southwest Broadens Reach in Europe with New Partnership
Southwest and Condor will connect Frankfurt with six U.S. cities, allowing checked bag transfers and expanding Rapid Rewards member benefits starting Jan. 19.
- On Dec. 2, 2025, Southwest Airlines Co. announced a partnership with Frankfurt-based Condor to launch joint itineraries on January 19, 2026, linking Frankfurt Airport with six U.S. gateways and featuring through-checked bags.
- The tie-up will start small, Southwest said, with joint trips bookable via Condor's website and Expedia while Southwest plans partner bookings on its own channels by January 27, 2026.
- Condor offers nearly 70 destinations from Frankfurt and serves nearly 10 million guests annually, featuring a lie-flat business-class cabin and an Airbus A330neo long-haul fleet of 18 aircraft.
- Passengers will be able to book itineraries featuring connections between Condor and Southwest, with through-checked baggage transfers, benefiting from a wider range of seamless travel options, Mikko Turtiainen said.
- Amid other partnership moves, this follows a year of activity, with Condor's strong transatlantic focus making it a natural fit, according to Southwest.
