Haeran Ryu Beats Brooke Henderson in Playoff to Win Evian Championship for 2nd Straight Major Title
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Haeran Ryu birdied the first playoff hole to defeat Brooke Henderson and win the Evian Championship in Evian, France, securing her second consecutive major title within three weeks.
Ryu shot a record 60 on Saturday, the lowest round ever recorded at a major, while Henderson made three eagles in her final round at the Evian Golf Resort to force the playoff.
The 25-year-old Ryu celebrated her second major victory, saying, "I am so happy, I can't believe it." She won the Women's PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club on June 29.
Her victory ensures double major winners in the same year for the first time in women's golf history, following Nelly Korda's wins at the Chevron Championship and the Open in 2026.
Henderson, the 2022 champion, entered the playoff after a hole-in-one but had to lay up after pulling her drive, ultimately finishing with par on the deciding hole.
