The archaeological heritage of the Province of South Holland is to be moved within Alphen aan den Rijn. South Holland intends to house the provincial collection in the European Conservation Center (ECC) in Alphen, provided it can conclude a “market-rate lease agreement.” The province’s current depot in Alphen is too small and no longer meets the (climatic) requirements for the storage of fragile material.
