South Elgin Police Dig at Home on Revere Road in Search for Kianna Galvin, Missing Since 2016
Investigators found radar anomalies at the property as they continue searching for evidence in the 2016 disappearance of 17-year-old Kianna Galvin.
On Thursday, the South Elgin Police Department and Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force began a forensic excavation at a home in the 800 block of Revere Road, connected to the 2016 disappearance of 17-year-old Kianna Galvin.
Investigators recently scanned the property using ground-penetrating radar, revealing anomalies that warranted further investigation, according to a news release issued Thursday by the Kane County State's Attorney office.
Six days after Kianna vanished in 2016, a neighbor discovered blood on a garbage can that testing confirmed belonged to her; witnesses also reported seeing the teenager entering the home on Revere Road.
Kane County State's Attorney Jamie Mosser stated the case continues to weigh heavily on the community, saying, "We have not forgotten Kianna, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to seek the truth."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Elgin police at 741-2151, as investigators work to bring answers to the family after nearly 10 years.
