Soundgarden Reunite to Headline NFL Kickoff Halftime Show with Taylor Momsen and Mike McCready
The set marked a rare reunion for the surviving members and included Taylor Momsen and Mike McCready in a tribute to Chris Cornell.
- On Wednesday, September 9, Soundgarden's surviving members reunited at Lumen Field to perform during the Seattle Seahawks' season opener against the New England Patriots, featuring vocalist Taylor Momsen and guitarist Mike McCready.
- Momsen and McCready previously joined the band for their Rock And Roll Hall induction in November 2025, and the group performed Spoonman for the first time since May 17, 2017.
- Before the halftime festivities, McCready performed a Jimi Hendrix-inspired version of The Star-Spangled Banner, while the Seattle Seahawks' Blue Thunder drumline joined the band for Outshined.
- NBC did not broadcast the halftime performance, leaving many viewers upset; fans watching at home relied on Jumbotron footage shared by attendees at the game.
- Collaborating with producer Joe Barresi, the surviving members continue work on a new album featuring unreleased recordings made with the late Chris Cornell before his 2017 death.
