Kitchen Firm to Shut 15 Stores Around the UK in Bid to Prevent Collapse
The retailer said customers’ orders will move to nearby stores and affected staff will be supported as the plan awaits creditor approval.
On Tuesday, June 30, Magnet Kitchens announced plans to close 15 'underperforming' stores as part of a company voluntary arrangement restructuring process to secure the group's finances.
Magnet Group Chief Executive Sophie Rose stated the closures aim to 'address property costs that are no longer sustainable' while protecting the company's long-term health and stronger estate locations.
Affected staff will be 'supported throughout and suitable alternative roles within the business will be offered wherever possible,' while customer orders transfer to the closest alternative store locations.
Retailers like Quiz, Bennett, and Claire have announced closures or entered administration throughout 2026, reflecting a difficult year for the UK high street beyond Magnet's restructuring.
Despite closures, the firm—named 'Kitchen Retailer of the Year' at the 2026 Ideal Home Awards—will maintain its 159 other showrooms continuing normal operations across the nation.
