Some Farm Boy, L’Ancêtre and Life Smart Cheeses Recalled Due to Possible Listeria
No illnesses have been reported, and the agency says the recall could expand as investigators review additional cheese products.
On Oct. 14, 2026, The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced a recall of Farm Boy, Anc, and Life Smart cheeses due to potential listeria contamination.
Test results prompted the recall, and The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports no illnesses linked to these products, though an investigation is underway.
Affected products include Farm Boy organic Swiss and Year Old cheddar with July 30, 2027, best-before dates; Life Smart mozzarella and Anc shredded varieties are also recalled.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises consumers to discard or return affected products immediately, as contaminated food may not appear spoiled but still poses listeria risk.
Listeriosis symptoms include fever, vomiting, and muscle aches, according to The Public Health Agency; severe illness can occur in pregnant individuals, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
