Mogadishu -- Somali security forces raided a hotel in the capital overnight, wounding two federal lawmakers and arresting a senior adviser to the Puntland president, amid escalating political tensions between Mogadishu and the semi-autonomous region.
Police arrested the adviser on social affairs for the Puntland President while he was in Mogadishu.
Puntland regional authority has condemned the raid that took place during the pre-dawn meal before the Fajr prayer on Thursday. According to Puntland, the Somali Federal Government launched an attack on parliamentarians at a hotel located in the Adden Adde International Airport compound in Mogadishu.
