Somalia ratified the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFTA) Convention and thus officially became the 50th country to ratify it. The Minister of Trade and Industry, Jamal Mohamed Hassan, handed over the African Union's instrument of ratification, following parliamentary approval and the ratification of President Hassan Sheikh Mahmood.
