Orix pitcher Soichiro Yamazaki held his own in his first external game. He pitched in the ninth inning with a five-run lead and escaped a pinch with runners on first and third and one out. He struck out Matsukawa swinging and got Nakamura to ground out to shortstop. This is the first time he's played in a real game at the Miyazaki training camp, including the Red vs. White games on the 14th and 21st.
