Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy Says “We Are The World’s Best Analytics Platform”
Snowflake says CoCo can help data teams finish work 5 to 10 times faster as it expands AI automation for business users.
- Snowflake introduced CoCo and CoWork AI agents at its Expedition event, designed to autonomously plan and complete background work for technical and business teams. These bots, currently in private preview, handle ongoing assignments like monitoring data pipelines.
- The company aimed to evolve its platform beyond simple analytics to software that understands business data and organizational context. To build trust, agents must comprehend how organizations uniquely operate and work within established governance controls.
- Agents inherit the user's specific access permissions, role context, and security restrictions, ensuring data remains protected. They check in with human users when critical decisions require approval, maintaining oversight without compromising automation.
- Organizations including Cisco, Klarent, and United Rentals are deploying these agents across operations. Klarent reported that migrating Spark workloads to Snowflake reduced total cost of ownership by 60% while cutting data pipelines from more than 10 hours to less than three.
- Snowflake CEO Ramaswamy claims the company has "clearly leapfrogged the competition" like Databricks, citing $9 billion in remaining performance obligations as evidence. Despite past innovation delays, he emphasizes measurable productivity gains as the platform's long-term value driver.
