Smuggling balloons containing 15,000 packs of cigarettes. Podlasie police officers discovered such a find last night in the town of Jaświły. A similar incident also occurred this morning near Jabłonka Kościelna.
On the night of August 27, several smuggled balloons with cigarettes arrived in Poland. According to a Podlaskie police spokesman, these were structures with several domes — some of the largest ever flown into Poland.
Four smuggling balloons with attached cigarettes without Polish excise stamps were found in several locations, Podlasie police announced. In total, over 30,000 packs of cigarettes were seized.
A balloon with a payload attached landed overnight on the roof of a house in Jaświły (Podlaskie Voivodeship). Other balloons were found in Jabłonka Kościelna and Zygmunty. It is already known that police found 15,000 packs of cigarettes in the former.
