At around 9:45 pm on the 15th, smoke was spotted coming from under the floor of Kodama 764, which was traveling between Maibara (Shiga Prefecture) and Gifu-Hashima (Gifu Prefecture) on the Tokaido Shinkansen line. The train stopped at Gifu-Hashima Station for inspection and was cancelled. None of the approximately 250 passengers were injured, and some were able to transfer to a subsequent train. J
