The Health Directorate asks the population not to give in to panic, but advises older people, pregnant women and people with respiratory or cardiovascular diseases to wear FFP2 masks if they are exposed to smoke from fires in neighbouring countries.
The large-scale forest fires in Belgium near the German border continue to be noticeable in Hesse. Up to the Main-Kinzig-Kreis the smoke and fire gases are perceptible. Also the fine dust values were increased in the meantime.
