Gear strut issue forces emergency landing at Kelowna International Airport

The Kelowna International Airport (YLW) deployed an emergency response vehicle to the tarmac Tuesday night (Aug. 25) following an emergency landing. According to Ryan Watters, communications for YLW, two people were onboard a Piper cub aircraft that was forced to land due to a gear strut issue between 6-7 p.m. “Thankfully there were no injuries, and the runway was closed for approximately 30 minutes,” said Watters.
