LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A small plane crashed near an airport in Lincoln County, according to the Lincolnton Fire Department. It happened Friday afternoon in a field near the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Regional Airport in Iron Station, North Carolina. Two pilots were on board at the time.
