GLOBAL, JUL 16 – Broadcom will reduce VMware partners significantly by October 2025, focusing on larger cloud service providers to improve profitability and compete with hyperscalers, industry sources say.
- Effective October 31, 2025, Broadcom will end the current channel program, announced this week, shifting to an invitation-only partner model that reduces authorized partners.
- According to VMware, Broadcom’s post-acquisition strategy seeks simplification and innovation, with emphasis on committed cloud service providers.
- In the transition period, non-invited VCSP partners received non-renewal notices on July 15, 2025, and they may continue operating until October 31, 2025.
- Faced with fewer authorised partners, customers may no longer be able to renew their VMware licenses through former partners, Interactive warned that access could be disrupted.
- Effective November 1, 2025, the updated program reassures customers that Interactive remains an Authorised VCSP partner under the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program, while Broadcom unveils a private compute vision based on VMware Cloud Foundation 9.
