The 27-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday and placed in police custody after the body of a man killed and eviscerated in a park near Amiens was discovered the day before.
The respondent, 27 years old, assured "not to know the victim", according to the prosecutor, who stressed on Wednesday that "investigations continue to determine in particular the reasons for the change to act".
Arrested on Tuesday, 5 August, the man in custody confessed to being responsible for the murder, announced the Amiens prosecutor Wednesday, 6 August.
The suspect, arrested Tuesday at his home, told the police not to know the victim.
An eviscerated body was found near Amiens on Monday. The defendant admitted the facts during his police custody, RTL learned this Wednesday.
