The 27-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday and placed in police custody after the body of a man killed and eviscerated in a park near Amiens was discovered the day before.
The respondent, 27 years old, assured "not to know the victim", according to the prosecutor, who stressed on Wednesday that "investigations continue to determine in particular the reasons for the change to act".
