- On Monday, September 28, 2026, Slate Grocery REIT announced an agreement to be acquired by a joint venture between Brixmor Property Group Inc. and Everview Partners, valuing the trust at approximately US$2.3 billion.
- The sale follows a comprehensive strategic review process launched on May 22, 2026, after the Board of Trustees established a special committee to evaluate unsolicited proposals from Slate Asset Management.

- Upon closing in the first quarter of 2027, the REIT will become a private entity and delist from the Toronto Stock Exchange, while Slate Asset Management's Management Agreement will terminate for a US$50 million payment.
- Unitholders must approve the arrangement by a 66 2/3% vote to finalize the deal; following completion, Slate Asset Management plans to redeploy capital into grocery-anchored real estate in North America and grow its European grocery platform.
