New kid on the block
Skoda Australia will launch the Elroq electric SUV in September 2025 with limited units available locally for the rest of the year.
The launch follows Skoda's plans to offer two rear-wheel-drive variants powered by the same 210kW motor and 82kWh battery, targeting a competitive mid-size EV segment.
The Elroq is 4488mm long, matching the Enyaq's 2765mm wheelbase but shorter overall, and offers 470 litres of boot space, positioning it closer to the BYD Atto 3 in size.
Pricing starts at $54,990 before on-road costs for the 85 Select, with a higher-spec 130 Edition at $64,990, and Skoda expects a roughly equal sales split and about 350 units in 2025, doubling in 2026.
The Elroq claims a 0-100km/h time of 6.6 seconds and a WLTP range of 529 km, exceeding the driving range of rivals like the BYD Sealion 7 and Tesla Model Y, suggesting strong market competitiveness.
