Singapore's opposition will not nominate replacement for Leader of the Opposition role

The Workers' Party will keep the Leader of the Opposition post vacant after Pritam Singh's removal due to criminal conviction, reflecting party unity and established leadership processes.

"In other jurisdictions, members convicted of crimes involving dishonesty or lying under oath would ordinarily have resigned. This has not happened here," said the Prime Minister's Office.
