Singapore Airlines to upgrade KrisWorld entertainment system from 2027, with bigger screens and new features

The airline will add faster satellite internet, 4K touchscreens and personalized entertainment across selected long-haul jets, with 2,500 options and monthly content updates.

  • On Thursday, Singapore Airlines announced upgrades to 41 retrofitted Airbus A350 aircraft and upcoming Boeing 777-9 jets, introducing Starlink high-speed internet and next-generation KrisWorld entertainment beginning in 2027.
  • This rollout is part of a US$860 million investment program to modernize cabin interiors. Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president for customer experience at SIA, said customer feedback guided development of offerings providing "more choice and flexibility" during flights.
  • The revamped KrisWorld platform features 4K OLED touchscreens, spatial audio, and 2,500 content options from Apple TV, BBC, and HBO Max. Starlink will provide "faster and smoother connectivity from take-off to landing."
  • Frequent flyers can log in via KrisFlyer accounts to save seat preferences, lighting settings, and resume content across flights. New functionality includes a dedicated Kids' Mode and a mini-player for simultaneous browsing and viewing.
  • SIA will reveal further cabin experience details at an event on November 7, 2026. The airline plans to share connectivity strategies for other fleets at a later date as upgrades roll out progressively.
