In a series of articles on the derailment of the caribou protection plan, La Presse revealed on December 2 that the Quebec government had knowingly failed to follow up on an action taken by the community of Pessamit. The band council called for the establishment of a moratorium on logging in the territory covered by its Pipmuakan protected area.
