3 Teens Injured in Shooting After High School Football Game in Pittsburgh
Authorities said the victims were believed to be teenagers and were taken to hospitals in stable condition after an altercation outside the stadium.
On Thursday night, three teenagers were injured in a shooting outside George K. Cupples Stadium in Pittsburgh's South Side following a City League football game between Westinghouse and University Prep, Pittsburgh Public Safety said.
Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando reported that officers were breaking up fights among a large crowd exiting the venue when an individual suddenly pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds.
Two male victims and one female victim were transported to a hospital in stable condition, while Lando described the scene as "chaotic," noting officers were positioned within feet of the incident.
Authorities are currently searching for the shooter, though officials have not released a suspect description; police have deployed drones and taken one person in for questioning as of Friday.
This incident adds to a national trend, with more than 340 mass shootings reported in 2026 so far, as Lando said detectives remain confident they will identify the individual responsible.
