Shane Beamer Provides Injury Report After South Carolina's Win over Florida
Beamer said the Gamecocks’ latest injury report followed a 38-19 road win, their largest away victory over a ranked opponent.
- On Saturday, South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer led his team to a 38-19 victory over Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, marking the program's largest-ever away win against a ranked opponent.
- Despite the upset, Beamer's $8 million annual salary—more than $12 million including assistants—reflects South Carolina's expectations, as the program managed only one win in 10 SEC games before Saturday's breakthrough.
- Across college football, other coaches face mounting pressure; Maryland's Mike Locksley remains under fire after a dozen consecutive Power-Four losses, while Charlotte's Tim Albin holds a 1-17 record since 2024.
- Texas A&M highlights the financial toll of coaching changes; the university paid former coach Jimbo Fisher $75 million to exit, while LSU continues paying Brian Kelly $54 million in ongoing obligations.
- Florida State coach Mike Norvell faces similar challenges; his Seminoles have been brilliant in first halves but struggle to maintain leads, requiring four-quarter performances to justify earning another season with the program.
