She crossed the border with the help of a Canadian spy named Mohammed Al Rasheed. Just 10 days later she was married to a Dutchman named Yago Riedijk. They had three children together, who all later died from malnourishment or disease. Ms Begum was stripped of her British citizenship in January 2017.
