SGS Issues World's First ISO/IEC 5259-3 Certification for AI Data Quality Management

SGS, global Testing, Inspection and Certification company, announced it awarded AI Clearing the first ISO/IEC 5259-3 certificate in Bloomfield, N.J., recognizing leadership in AI and ML data quality, on Dec. 10, 2025, as Mazur stated, `'Working with SGS has been instrumental in our AI assurance journey.'`
AI Clearing pursued the certification as a natural next step in its AI governance journey, building on prior ISO/IEC 42001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications.
SGS's Digital Trust Assurance team led a detailed audit of AI Clearing's data pipelines, covering over 15 million labeled data points and 5,000 ML iterations in 2023.
Adding ISO/IEC 5259-3 to its portfolio, SGS positioned the award within its DIGITAL TRUST services, saying it aligns with SGS Strategy 27 and highlights AI Clearing's leadership in data-quality governance.
Looking forward, AI Clearing says the certification is a foundation for further capability expansion and trust-building as ISO/IEC 5259-3 complements ISO/IEC 42001 by creating a framework for end-to-end AI governance.
