Septic Tank Pumping Kingston releases homeowner guide to City of Kingston septic permits, inspections and pumping, as updated Ontario Building Code rules for septic systems remain in effect
The guide explains when permits are required, lists four inspections and warns waterfront owners to secure conservation authority approval first.
Septic Tank Pumping Kingston published a guide for Kingston homeowners covering septic permits, inspections, conservation authority rules, and maintenance.
The City of Kingston says updated plumbing and septic provisions in the 2024 Ontario Building Code took effect on January 1, 2025.
A building permit is required to construct or alter an on-site sewage system with a daily capacity of 10,000 litres or less, according to the City of Kingston.
The guide lists four inspections and says waterfront projects in the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority’s jurisdiction need its permit before the city issues a building permit.
