Soldier Martyred, 17 Terrorists Killed in Balochistan Operations: ISPR
Weapons and ammunition were recovered as security forces continued an anti-terror campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, officials said.
- On Sunday, November 1, security forces killed 17 militants during intelligence-based operations in Balochistan's Kachhi and Kharan districts, while Sepoy Hikmat Ullah was martyred during an exchange of fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
- The ISPR described the militants as belonging to "Fitna al-Hindustan" and "Fitna al-Khawarij," groups the federal government officially designated last year as Indian-sponsored proxies conducting a proxy war in the region.
- In Kachhi, forces foiled a roadblock attempt through "proactive action," killing 10 militants, while a separate operation in Kharan busted a hideout, killing seven militants; weapons and ammunition were recovered in both operations.
- President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for the operation, while counterterrorism efforts will continue under the "Azm-e-Istehkam" initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism.
- Balochistan recorded a 46 per cent decline in terrorist attacks during October, yet ACLED data shows annual attacks in Pakistan rose to 2,425 in 2025, underscoring persistent security challenges despite recent operational successes.
