Senior paramedic among 13 charged with husband accused of raping drugged wife
The husband admitted 15 of 48 charges, while 12 co-defendants deny the allegations and one co-defendant has pleaded guilty.
Reporting restrictions were lifted on Friday, allowing 13 men accused of sexual offenses to be named for the first time in connection with a husband who allegedly drugged and raped his wife over a 20-year period.
The man, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, faces 48 counts including 16 counts of rape; he allegedly drugged and raped his wife between 2004 and 2025, though he denies many of the charges.
At a hearing earlier this week, the man pleaded guilty to 15 of the 48 charges. Keith Fotheringham, 59, from Dundee, Scotland, has admitted all charges he faces.
Defendants are set to stand trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court; a further preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 24, one week before the 12-week trial begins.
The case involves defendants from Manchester and Scotland, with the law granting the alleged victim lifelong anonymity as the legal process proceeds toward trial.
