At its summit in Freetown in July, the Cedeao appointed Senegal as a mediator to conduct the dialogue in Guinea-Bissau. The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Niang, travelled to Bissau to present the new mediation plan to the President of the transition, General Horta N的Tam.
