Second glacial outburst flood expected to cause ‘minor flooding’ in Juneau

The annual glacial flood from Suicide Basin is releasing water again, with the Mendenhall River expected to crest at 11 to 12 feet, lower than the 16.65-foot record in August.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning Monday morning, saying that water gauges indicate the Suicide Basin had started to release into Mendenhall Lake.
