The government fears, in the midst of a presidential campaign, a coalition of left-right oppositions that does not allow the adoption of a budget.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu wrote to parliamentarians asking them to vote on the state's 2027 budget in the interest of France, a few months before the presidential election.
"Choose to wait for the presidential election to adopt a budget (...) is to choose disorder," wrote the Prime Minister in a letter addressed to MPs and senators.
As we approach the presentation of the 2027 budget, Sébastien Lecornu calls on parliamentarians to focus on debate and the search for compromises. The Prime Minister warns against any hasty recourse to 49.3 or orders.
