BOGUE BANKS — Sea turtle monitoring groups along Bogue Banks are recording near-record nesting numbers this year as North Carolina experiences its second-highest nesting season on record.
According to the organization, of the registered nests, 150 are in follow-up, while 459 were transferred to the nursery.In the framework of conservation actions, 53 turtles were also rescued.
