Tommy Robinson Apologises After Labelling Glasgow Father an ‘Invader’
Police said the claim that Quroum Beg filmed children was completely inaccurate, after the clip drew more than 118,000 views and racist abuse online.
On Tuesday, far-right activist Tommy Robinson apologized for falsely labeling 43-year-old Quroum Beg an "invader" after a viral video showed him at a Glasgow park during an anti-immigration protest.
The incident occurred last Sunday, July 12, when Beg filmed protesters who approached his family in Richmond Park; Police Scotland confirmed the claim he was "filming underage children" was "completely inaccurate."
Beg, who has three children, reported being left "fearing for his life" following the online abuse and has been granted a special urgent police response number for his safety.
Despite deleting the post, Robinson insisted the error does not negate "all the other many instances of freshie migrants taking over parks"; Beg told BBC Scotland News the correction falls "far short of an apology."
Councillor Soriya Siddique expressed concern regarding recent protest activity in Oatlands and urged the community to "unite," emphasizing there is "no place for intimidation" in Glasgow.
