Scientists develop robot with 20 legs that can climb walls
Engineers at Duke University created Argus, a robot with 20 legs that can climb walls and move with no distinct front or back, featuring 20 eyes.
Argus uses a new design concept called dynamic symmetry, allowing it to move agilely and self-stabilize quickly in environments like forests, wet surfaces, and sand.
The robot can quickly stabilize after being pushed, change orientation instantly, climb vertically between close walls, and carry or push payloads.
Jiaxun Liu from Duke University said, "Watching Argus move is unlike watching any other robot we’ve worked with".
