Schreiber Mayoral Candidate: Adam Cherry
The four-candidate race centers on wastewater plant funding, high taxes and efforts to keep residents and businesses in town.
Four candidates are vying for mayor in the Schreiber municipal election: Robert Fisk, Adam Cherry, Christopher Labbe, and Anne-Marie Bourgeault. Voters will choose new leadership on Monday, Oct. 26.
Schreiber must address infrastructure needs, including completing a wastewater treatment plant and improving recreation services to attract young families. The municipality also faces declining population and must expand its tax base.
Fisk argues the town "has slowly diminished over the years" and needs rebuilding from the ground up. He advocates for "fresh ideas," stating the council cannot rely on the "same old guard."
Cherry emphasizes an "independent perspective" to control property taxes, while Labbe cites his trades background to "find solutions that other people don't see" regarding infrastructure. Both offer distinct approaches to township challenges.
Residents can cast ballots through an online platform beginning Oct. 13 and concluding at 8 p.m. on Oct. 26. The election will determine the town's new leadership and direction.
